The groundhog saw its shadow plummeting us into six more weeks of winter. Oh wait, we live in Chicago, we have ten more weeks of winter ahead of us that will pop in and out. Heck, we may even get a May snowfall. Chicagoans know that spring in comingled with winter for much of the season, and summer doesn’t truly hit until July. So, that means you still have time to stock up on winter running gear, which is, in my opinion way cuter than summer running gear anyhow! It just takes a bit longer to put on.
Lululemon has some great options for winter running to get us through the low temp’s. One of my favorite pieces is the Swiftly Tech Long-Sleeve Shirt 2.0 in Race Length. This style shirt is so stylish and converts easily to post-race coffee attire. It comes in normal and cropped (race) length. As a shorter gal, I prefer the race length, but I also have one of these in full length and enjoy the different look it provides.
This top was designed with minimal seams to reduce chafing and has a high level of breathability, while an added level of elastic to help it stay put. The thumbholes are my favorite and allow for a glove covering for semi-cool weather that doesn’t warrant a full glove or mitten.
My favorite lululemon running tights for outdoor winter running are the Swift Speed High-Rise Tight 28 inchers. They are warm, but breathable. And, my favorite part is that they have a pocket in the back, perfectly sized for my car key.
The slick fabric of these pants supports long runs without the sagging that sometimes happens once you hit double digits in runs. They stay put without my normal yanking up tendencies. And, in true lululemon form, are soft and comfy to the touch. They also come in so many different colors and styles so you can feel as stylish as you look in those race pictures! (Unless you’re like me and can’t keep your eyes open for the photographer!)
And I like to top this outfit off with the Down for It All Vest which also is complete with pockets for your phone, gum, earbuds, tissues, and anything else you need for your winter runs!
