On Sunday, Sept. 20, Gwen Jorgensen make an appearance at Live Grit (1010 W. Monroe) to share her tips on racing and training for triathlons. Presented by Live Grit and Universal Sole, the World Champion and 2012 Olympian will host a Q&A beginning at 10 a.m. followed by a 5K run at 11:15 and lunch at 12 p.m.
Starting out as a Big Ten swimmer and runner at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Jorgensen finished eighth in her first competitive triathlon and soon after was named the 2010 USAT Rookie of the Year and Elite Duathlete of the Year.
Following an amazing debut, she won the ITU World Cup three times, was the first USA woman to win a World Triathlon Series race, participated in the 2012 Olympics, was named USAT’s Triathlete of the year in 2013 and was the 2014 World Champion.
An amazingly talented athlete, Jorgensen will most certainly be headlining the news in the coming years, especially with another Olympic Games quickly approaching.
While the triathlon tips seminar has sold out, the 5K is open to all. To learn more, visit Universal Sole’s website.
