If you ever thought to yourself, “there can’t possibly be that many taco-themed puns and sayings to put onto teeshirts,” then your mind would have been blown when arriving at the Pink Taco- Taco Tuesday 5k in the city at Montrose Harbor.
Runners of all shapes and sizes came out to show their love of their favorite food item and get in a 5k run while doing it.
Adrenaline Special Events — which also organizes events like the Italian Beef 5k and the Santa Hustle — went all out on the taco theme for this event with taco-themed posters, inflatables, and face signs, and even provided a message board for people to write their own taco-themed encouragement messages to their friends and family. Of course, the evening topped off with a free taco provided by Pink Taco restaurant and food truck.
The night started out with a kids dash at 6 p.m. and then the 5k at 6:30. The course utilized the traditional Montrose Harbor course and on a summer night like that, there were plenty of spectators watching runners go by while enjoying a night on the beach, on the path, or in the park.
Adrenaline Special Events and Pink Taco managed to create a fun and lighthearted atmosphere for the Taco Tuesday 5k and I think most of the participants are already marking the date on their calendar for next year.
