Event returns for athletes to swim, bike, run through Lake Michigan and the Windy City after 2020 hiatus
CHICAGO, Ill May 14, 2021 — Registration is now open for one of the world’s most iconic triathlons—the 2021 Chicago Triathlon, owned and produced by Life Time. With safety front and center, triathlon weekend is set to take place on August 27-29, pending evolving guidelines and final City approval. The world-renowned triathlon course takes participants through a protected-harbor swim in Lake Michigan followed by flat bike and run routes through the popular Chicago Loop and lakefront which offer spectacular views of the Windy City. Final race course details will be released in the coming weeks at www.chicagotriathlon.com.

Distance options include supersprint, sprint, and international options for adults along with junior and senior options for the popular Kids Tri, with all courses wheelchair and para-triathlete friendly. Other race weekend programming includes the Multisport & Fitness Expo, regarded as the top show in sport, which is free and open to the public on Friday, Aug. 27 and Saturday, Aug. 28 at the Hilton Chicago.
