On Saturday, St. Patrick’s Day, All Community Events hosted its annual St. Paddy’s Day 5K and 10K races in Deer Park, Illinois. Hundreds of runners came out to celebrate the holiday and spend the morning together.

All Community Events does a great job with their pre-race communication, emailing several times before race day. Packet pick up was conveniently located in the shopping center where the race itself took place. Both pre- and race day packet pick up were available.

Both 5K and 10K distances started right at 8:30 a.m. from the Deer Park Town Center shopping center. There was plentiful, free parking and enough porta potties to ensure runners did not have to stand in lengthy lines. The start line was well organized with pace flags set up to separate runners.

Racers began in the shopping center parking lots and circled through to a paved trail and back to a corporate area of the village. 5K runners completed the loop once while 10K-ers circled a second time.

The course was filled with volunteers, race staff and police professionals. It was well marked and easy to navigate. Mostly flat, but with a couple of hills, the course was great for a fun morning race.

The weather was a little chilly in the mid 30’s with a light wind, but no precipitation or wind chill for runners. By mile one, everyone was thawed out.

All runners received a long sleeved, lightweight hoodie and a festive pint glass to celebrate Saint Patty’s Day. As with all holiday themed races, runners came out in their very best attire. Green wigs, tutus, compression socks and face paint could be found throughout most of the participants.

First through third female 10k winners were: Kristen Jordan, Christina Caputo and Amanda Fleege. First through their male 10k winners were: Ryan Marshall, Joshua Wittenberg and Carlos Rivas.

First through third female 5K winners were: Anna Gray, Mandy Kompanowski and Kristin Loftus. First through third male 5K winners were: Maciej Konczewski, Andrew Jordan and Jeffrey Joseph.

All Community Events continues to put on a great race series. Their races are always well organized with well mapped out courses and awesome swag. You can check out the entire race series here – https://allcommunityevents.com/.
