I am so excited to introduce you to our new weekly installment. I hope that you can take a few minutes each week to read, and focus on some of the topics discussed. Everything will be related to mindset motivation and manifestation! We can all use more of that right?!?!
So let’s start at the beginning.
What is meant by “mindset”?
Mindset is defined as a habitual or mental attitude the determines how one will interpret and respond in situations.
What the heck does that mean? Basically something happens, or is going to happen. Maybe this is an event you are planning, a race, a relationship, or really anything coming up, or even has already happened; and what your perspective or point of view on it will be (or is). This is also how one can frame the situation to better achieve their goal!
So in mindset coaching, a person will take stock of their beliefs, behaviors, and thought patterns to identify what “helps” and what “hurts”. The coach assists in mapping out strategic ways to modify or adopt new thoughts to promote a more productive or healthier outlook on life.
Lots of blah blah blah! We hear the term “mindset” often. Some of us share memes or quotes (guilty!) daily about it. Sometimes we still don’t get it. But we are getting there! It may seem like a buzzword now because of this, but it really does play into life!
Sometimes when I talk about mindset, people listen for a bit, some humor themselves and say “oh you’re so right”, or something like that; then they continue to charge forward.
Eventually comes the “you’re right, when do we start!” Or something of the sort.
As a population, we are often setting goals. This as a basic concept, something we are all familiar with! Then we move to the path and some other steps, maybe, and then achieve the goal. Right? Well, not always.
New goals require new habits. For example, the goal is to run your first marathon; the training plan you are using is for the half marathon you ran last year (no adapting it), what happens next? Well maybe you will reach the finish line, but does that feel good? Is that enough?
Alrighty now, so like I said…
New goals require new habits.
So what is a goal you have? Have you tried to achieve this goal before? What are you doing to achieve this goal? How are you organizing your time and activities surrounding this goal. What is the process? How are you feeling about this goal, or how would you like to feel?
Please feel free to share with me and others some of your goals. Even if they are still developing, thats what we are here for.
Think about it…
Even though every day is a great day to start something fresh and work on yourself; this one will start Monday! Haha!
“See” you Monday!
