With March having arrived, we can officially say that the Boston Marathon is next month! You should be hitting your longest runs of the training session and making your race day plan. One of the most important decisions to make is your race day outfit. Boston can be rainy, snowy, windy, sunny, hot, cold, or all of them combined, so you’ll want to try out all options to prepare for Patriot’s Day.

And, right on cue, Tracksmith has released their Boston race kits, which are sharper than ever. Tracksmith is an independent running brand with its roots in New England, so it’s no surprise that the Boston design fits the running culture perfectly. Launched in 2014, Tracksmith set up shop in Wellesley, MA at the halfway point of the Boston Marathon. In 2017, they moved 13.1 miles down the course to 285 Newbury Street to their first permanent retail store, the Trackhouse is a community hub for runners.
The Boston Reversible Singlet is available in both mens and womens styles. This limited-edition race day singlet features Boston ‘26 colorways and graphics. The Boston shorts also come in both the mens and womens styles. The Van Cortlandt shorts are a favorite amongst runners, as they perform even better than they look. The lightweight mesh and waist tie are an ideal combo for distance runners.

One of my favorite Tracksmith pieces is the Brighton Base Layer.
This top is a classic long sleeve that is lightweight, and yet produces warmth for distance runners. It is incredibly soft and fits close to the skin, moving with you through the miles. The Boston version is the perfect base layer to commemorate Boston ‘26. My plan is to wear this on race day, if the weather is cooler. If a long sleeve is not appropriate, this will be my post race comfort to change into for the celebrations. The Brighton Base Layer is the most multifaceted running piece and an absolute must-have for all runners.
