Wisconsin Marathon Offers New, Risk-Free Registration for 2017

They say, “early bird gets the worm,” right? But sometimes, the bird has to change direction, and misses the worm.

What are we talking about? Race directors of the Wisconsin Marathon understand that things come up, and registering for a race several months in advance can cause stress due to uncertainty in schedule. We’re here to ease that stress.

New this year, registration for the 2017 Wisconsin Marathon is risk-free until Feb. 1. This means that if you are registered for the race and something else comes up, contact us by 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 1, you will be refunded your registration fee. See the information on our website for full details.

Pretty cool, right? We want you to be able to commit to our race early on, while still having the option to back out without being stuck paying for a race you can’t run.

We are placing our final order for shirts, bibs, timing chips, water and other items on Feb. 2, so there are no cancellations after Feb. 1. No exceptions.

Registration for the 2017 Wisconsin Marathon is now open; it will be held on May 6, 2017 in Kenosha, Wis. Until Oct. 31, the marathon is $75, the half marathon is $55 and the 5K is $25. Price increases occur on Nov. 1, Dec. 1, Feb. 1 and March 16.

Holly's running career began in high school; after being bummed about not making the volleyball team her sophomore year, she decided to join some of her middle school friends on the cross country team. She also did track in the fall, where the 1600 m race was her niche. Since then, she has run several shorter distance races and two half marathons. Her goal for 2017 is to try a triathlon, and eventually do the Chicago Marathon. She graduated from Illinois State University in May 2016 with a degree in journalism. Working at Chicago Athlete, Holly has been able to explore photography a lot more, which is one of her main hobbies. She enjoys taking photos at endurance races, and is also passionate about nature photography and portraiture.
