The Foundation will award grants to that help further its mission to provide support to youth, paratriathletes and/or aspiring Olympians, particularly to groups or individuals who may not have had opportunities to participate in the sport without additional funding. Last year, the Foundation awarded $52,000 to 14 different organizations. It has also contributed to the Gwen Jorgensen Scholarship Fund, which supports junior triathletes.
Those interested in receiving a grant can download the application form online. Applicants will receive notice by March 25 and funding on or around March 31, and must use their funds by the end of 2016.
Local clubs Dare2tri and Tri-Masters Sports Initiative Programs both received grants from the USA Triathlon Foundation in 2015, with Dare2tri’s supporting its Kids Camp, and Tri-Masters’ supports its youth programming.
