Spring Training Essentials

It’s finally starting to warm up and St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner. This means it’s time to start spring training! I’ve had the opportunity to check out a few new products on the market and wanted to share some of my favorites.

Swiftwick Socks – If there is anything you should stock up on, it’s these socks. They are cushioned, while providing compression, which makes for an extremely comfortable ride for your feet. I’ve had the opportunity to try these out on technical trails and road-based long runs and really can’t speak highly enough about them. The company is dedicated to make a performance sock, which makes them different from a lot of sock production companies out there. It’s worth it to invest in a few pairs of performance socks, especially if you will be logging longer miles this spring.

Nathan Running Gear

I don’t go anywhere without my Hammerhead 18 oz steel insulated bottle by Nathan Sports. This bottle is sturdy and ensures that my beverages are the temperatures they are supposed to be. One of my favorite components of this bottle is that the mouthpiece is full covered and protected from germs. Water bottles with exposed mouthpieces always make me uncomfortable from a sanitary standpoint so I greatly appreciate the cleanliness of this bottle. Plus, it’s dishwasher safe so you really can’t go wrong.

Nathan Sports makes a ton of high quality running gear and hydration vests. If you’re looking for a new one to support your training this spring, definitely check out their reasonably priced items online.

The RunnerBox

This is such a fun gift for runners and cyclists! The RunnerBox and the RiderBox are bi-monthly subscription boxes, especially crafted for cyclists and runners that are delivered right to your door. Each box includes a curated selection of athlete-tested products from nutrition to exercise gadgets that help fuel active lifestyles. The boxes include healthy snacks, endurance products, and even holiday-themed accesspories to make a fun, convenient and motivational gift for any soon to be, or current fitness enthusiast (of all levels). The best part of these boxes is that they are put together by elite and professional athletes who really know what works.

Perfect Hydration Water

Perfect Hydration is one of the cleanest forms of purified alkaline and electrolyte water on the market today. It quickly replenishes the nutrients lost for maximum performance. In the Midwest spring, we often forget to hydrate. It’s cooler, you don’t sweat as much. This type of water helps you to rehydrate and recover quickly, especially after tough races or longer runs. I like that you can order this water online and have it delivered right to your home.

Incrediwear Active Pain Relief Calf Sleeves

Speaking of recovery, these calf sleeves have just the right amount of compression to provide real muscle relief. I wear these after a tough workout, but many of my colleagues like to wear them during races. They are such a versatile product that can be used whenever the need arises. Incrediwear also makes an elbow, knee, and back brace compression product.
