It was a snowy and cold morning for the second Annual Run for the Stars 5k sponsored by the soccer and cross-country programs at Rich South High School.

The 5k race started at 8:30 a.m and included several Rich South faculty members, students, and several outside runners. The course was a one and half loop course around the school property consisting of pavement and grass cutting through the sports fields and around the entire school.

For the second year, the race was an organized and fun event. Runners complimented the design of the course and the after party and awards was a great time. Each runner received a t-shirt and a variety of food after including hot chocolate. The money benefitted the Rich South athletic programs and also included a food drive for National Honor Society. Race sponsor Marcy Jo Chachakis stated she hoped to make the next race even bigger next year!
