On July 17th, Silver Circle Sporting Events hosted the Adrenaline Race Series in West Bend, Wisconsin. Distances offered were a full marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K. All races began and ended about a mile away from the Eisenbahn Trail, which is what all courses ran.

“The Eisenbahn Trail, built on a former railroad corridor, is a 25-mile trail extending from the historic city of West Bend into the scenic countryside of eastern Wisconsin past the glacial landscape of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. Eisenbahn is German for railroad.” – Website

The weather was in the 70’s, which was a pleasant surprise for a mid-July race, although the sun warmed things up as the morning progressed. All distances were out and back with varying turnaround points, depending on your distance. The trail was crushed limestone and fairly feet with only about 200 feet of elevation throughout.

The full marathon route treated runners to several different types of scenery including a tree lined trail, charming small towns, and fishing ponds. The course was well marked on the turn arounds and provided 8 aid stations each way to the 26.2 runners.

All runners received a short sleeved, technical t-shirt and finisher’s medal.

As with all SCSE races, it was well done, organized, and predictable for runners. This race company knows what they are doing and do it well. And runners truly appreciate a July marathon being offered in the Midwest, as they are few and far between in the summer months.
