Athletes looking to recover from the Bank of America Chicago Marathon in style have a variety of options at local hotels, whose spas offer an assortment of packages to help rejuvenate tired muscles.

The Chuan Spa, a Traditional Chinese Medicine-based spa at The Langham (330 N. Wabash), will offer “Chuan’s Marathon Indulgence,” a special menu designed to reduce muscle discomfort. Options include the Chuan Reflex Remedy ($185/60 minutes), which uses acupressure to promote healing, the Chuan Feet Retreat ($165/60 minutes) to focus specifically on the feet and the Therapeutic Massage ($285/80 minutes), which promotes circulation.

The Chuan Spa also sells products runners can take home, including the Mineral Wellness Soak ($44), which contains over 60 minerals to nourish, detoxify and rebalance the body and Fuß Balm ($40), a crème that contains menthol, rosemary, pine and lavender to nourish and soften legs and feet.

The Waldorf Astoria Chicago (11 E. Walton) has several accommodations for runners, including a runner-friendly dinner menu available at the lobby bar and via in-room dining through Oct. 12 that features Scottish Salmon ($26), Seafood en Brodo ($29) and Whole Wheat Spaghetti Pasta ($23). On race morning, the hotel will provide coffee, water, Gatorade, fruit and bags of raw almonds for spectators to take with them and a station for crafting signs to cheer on friends and family.

The Waldorf Astoria Spa & Health Club offers a Muscle Repair Massage ($195/60 minutes; $290/90 minutes) for those looking to promote recovery after the run. Marathoners will also receive complimentary bath salts to help them relax after the race.
