It’s cyber-Monday and a great time to start planning your holiday gift buying. If you have athletes in your life, here are a few of our favorite things from the past year.
Tifosi Sunglasses – The Sizzle design is my favorite sunglass for lounging. I am partial to the crystal peach blush color, which is incredibly unique and eye-catching in design. It also is highly functional, covering both of my eye, including my peripheral eyelines.
Ready to Sizzle?! Tifosi’s lifestyle shield sunglasses are here to turn heads and heat things up! Sizzle has a durable Grilamid TR-90 frame that provides lightweight comfort and shatterproof polycarbonate lenses with 100% UVA/UVB protection. Sizzle Crystal Peach Blush was designed with style and function in mind.
For performance, I would highly recommend the Rail series. This high performance sunglass stays put, even in the harshest weather, while providing sleek protection.
Take on any trail in Rail Crystal Blue. Rail takes the need for ventilation in cycling glasses and combines it with an oversized rimless design that offers increased coverage. Its frame is lightweight for all-day comfort and the shatterproof lenses ensure long-term use. Rail’s rimless shield frame keeps eyes protected from debris while still offering maximum airflow, whether you’re pedaling the blacktop or trailing under the pines.
Tifosi’s entire holiday collection can be found here and make a great, cost-effective gift for the athletes in your life.
As the weather gets cooler, another great option for gift giving is the Voormi collection of weather protective base and outer layers. The river run hoodie is one of my favorites for a crisp 40 degree morning.
Protective and light, the River Run Hoodie is designed for those who spend a lot of time outdoors. Thanks to advanced technology, it is one of the lightest full-cover Merino wool hoodies on the market and keeps both sun and sweat off your skin, so you’re protected and dry all day, every day.
Voormi also has great base layer bottoms which are a combination of fine-micron Merino wool and a razor-thin layer of wicking fibers that keep you dry and comfortable. Featuring their DUAL SURFACE™ Precision Blended Wool, nothing in the apparel world comes close to this baselayer in terms of warmth, breathability, versatility, durability, and overall comfort.
You can check out all of the Voormi collections here.
Betty Designs has been a long time fan favorite amongst Chicago athletes. You can check out all of their eye-catching designs here. You will notice that the site is split by sport at the top of the webpage, so if you are unsure of what to buy, this is a great website to walk you through what your athlete may enjoy and be able to use in training.
For example, the Betty Designs Racerback Run Tanks are made for running, yoga, triathlon or wearing at the gym. The ultra-lightweight, open mesh racerback run tank is so light, you won’t even realize you’re wearing anything at all, making it perfect for a gym day run on the tread.
And you know that Chicago Athlete LOVES Arc’teryx clothing, especially for winter running. Arc’teryx has 2 locations (Bucktown and Gold Coast) and you can order online. Check out the new pink Norvan shoes for women’s trail running this winter. This shoe was designed with comfort and climate protection in mind and is my absolute favorite to hit the trails in the winter.
You won’t find a better pair of gloves. This company knows how to protect athletes from extreme conditions and every pair I have tried has been amazing. The Gortex material and high quality design have been tested in the toughest elements and can withstand brutal cold and wind.
And to keep with the pink theme, I just can’t get enough of this hat. It’s so darn cute and provides a great deal of protection in the Chicago winters.
These are just a few of our favorites to help keep your athletes performing all winter long! You could also gift a race entry or personal training certificate. Let us know some gifts you have found that connect with your athletes!
