If you resolved to reduce clutter in your home in 2016, Fleet Feet may be able to help you out.
The local running store is currently accepting race bib donations, with the goal of collecting 1,000 bibs by the end of the month to display permanently at the store’s Old Town location.
“In talking about the public response [Fleet Feet] has been getting from people who keep asking them when Old Town is going to be open, saying that they love the stores, this concept of, ‘How do we show how much we are a part of the community and how much we love the running community and how the community loves us and we’re all woven together,’ someone said, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool if we could show that?’” Fleet Feet spokesperson Robin Monsky says. “After throwing out ideas, the idea of getting bibs from runners came up.”
The bibs will be displayed on the back wall of the store above the shoe wall. Those interested in contributing bibs from their collection can drop them off or mail them to any local Fleet Feet location by Jan. 31.
The Old Town store closed this summer after suffering damage due to a fire at the neighboring Adobo Grill on Aug. 26. The store hopes to finish renovations soon, with the goal of reopening its doors in February.
