I have been looking forward to this race for a while now. Sort of an “end of the year” race for me. No matter what the weather, I was going to be there! That is what is the best about races in the winter or near winter, expect the worst weather, and anything better than that is great! I am just super bummed I didn’t grab my holiday gear to wear for the race. So many great costumes out there, even with the cold. Everything from holiday tutus to ugly sweater designed running pants, and even a couple Olaf from Frozen costumes.
With all the fun that is had this is still a great 5k for those wanting a serious race too. Set on closed roads, and a wide path, with a couple small hills and a few turns. Very easy to park, as long as people got there in time before the road was closed to start the race and the Kids Dash! In addition to pre-race packet pickup, packet shipping, there was also race morning packet pickup. There were also mini horses that work as comfort animals available to meet prior to the race start. Unfortunately, I decided to wait until after the race to meet them, not knowing they were leaving. So next time mini horses!
Congratulations to all 845 participants. Medals were given to the top 3 overall winners male and female as well as the top 3 in each age group.
