The month of May is, by no accident, a big one for anyone looking to get or stay in shape. Typically, May in Chicago is the first month of anything approaching consistent warm weather. With that in mind, more and more people begin their summer training in May to get the beach body or competition shape they are after. Because of all of this, the 5th month of the year has been dubbed both “Bike Month” and “National Fitness Month.” To get in the spirit, the Chicago Park District is offering fitness class opportunities for anyone to enjoy.
On Saturday, May 12, the park district will host a number of fitness classes geared to almost any interest in locations across the city. These free classes include boot camps, yoga, pilates, Zumba and running clinics just to name a few. The instructors are all certified with credentials in group fitness, personal training, and other specific fitness features. Some classes are limited in age range while others can be enjoyed by the whole family including toddlers.
