USA Triathlon has released their championship schedule and the Chicago Triathlon has been picked to host the Club National Championships in 2014. The top clubs from around the country will come to Chicago for the weekend of August 23, championships will be held in the Olympic, sprint and super-sprint distances.
Any of the more than 1,000 officially registered USA Triathlon clubs are eligible to sign-up for the championships, however to participate an official registration is needed with the Chicago Triathlon complete with the competing roster.
Clubs will be broken down into different divisions depending on the size of their team. The top three teams in each of the five divisions will go home with prize money. First place in each division will win $1,000, second will win $500 and third will go home with $250. Each finishing team member will record a participation point for their team, however finishers who come in the top ten of either their age group, elite or paratriathlon divisions will rack up additional points. A full point system will be released at a later date.
The Chicago Triathlon has long been considered one of the top events in the country. This year is again expected to draw attention from every level of triathletes including some of the most elite pros.
