On Saturday, April 15, All Community Events hosted the Brew City Half Marathon and 10K in Milwaukee, Wisc. Just 45 minutes north from the Illinois border, this picturesque race began at the McKinley Marina and lined the lakefront before heading out a trail that lined the Milwaukee River.

This multi-distance race began with a small loop that ran along city streets and followed Lake Michigan. Half marathon racers continued through Veteran’s Park and ran a paved trail that wound through FIVE parks ending with a turnaround in Estabrook Park before circling back to McKinley Marina. 10K-ers turned around just after entering the paved trail and circled back to the Marina.

Saturday boasted temperatures into the low eighty degrees, making for a great start to the spring running season in the Midwest.  Spectators and volunteers lined the path as racers enjoyed the scenic waterfronts of Milwaukee. Runners received an added bonus, and distraction, as they got to run past hundreds of children engaged in an Easter Egg hunt in a trail-hugging park.

Brats were being grilled at the finish line offering racers an added incentive to finish fast. All finishers received an enormous medal touting the Brew City themed race, brats and beer. All racers also received a quality zip up hoodie in a color of their choice.

All Community Events never disappoints with the added fun brought to each and every race. The shirts are always of the highest quality and the food is worth the run endured.

First through third Half Marathon male finishers were: Tobias Smith, Thomas Wells and Trevor Brown. First through third Half Marathon female finishers were: Mina Demarco, Lauren Hintz and Julie Schoeneck. First through third 10K male finishers were: Eric Pilling, Sam Keepman and Ben Koconis. First through third 10K female finishers were: Rebekka Dow, Courtney Susedik and Sarah Babcock.
